Presentations
Carrick Davis will be presenting Designing with Data to Drive Insight: Developing effective reports to support your prospect management program can be a challenging task. By using elements of behavioral economics to inform your report requirements, we will discuss elements of reports that support “good” behavior that offer insight for development staff and drive successful outcomes. Through examples of portfolio reports, new leads, moves management, proposal pipelines, and trip planning reports, attendees will learn strategies to streamline the ease with which development can gain vision into their own activity, progress and potential, freeing up prospect development staff’s time.
Katie Mueller will present on privacy and GDPR, including where the law came from, what it is, how it impacts our organizations, and some of the different interpretations and next steps that have been recommended. Following her talk there will be a discussion about how everyone is approaching GDPR at their organizations (in their departments, at the organization level, etc.) and next steps different organizations are pursuing.
Johnny Swinehart and Jason Cherry will walk through the process of creating a unit-specific planned gift likelihood rating. They created a likelihood score for each of CU’s four campuses. First, they will cover the types of planned gifts to consider, including bequests, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts. Then they will walk through the initial variables they tested for each planned gift type, what the results showed, and what variables they chose to use. They will also discuss the challenges with implementing and marketing a planned gift score. Finally, they will share how a similar model can be created in Excel.
This conference has received CFRE continuing education approval for 3 points.
